I believe one would be able to improve his/her English skills. Practice makes perfect. In this case, "practice" refers to reading as many books as possible. By constantly reading books, one would be able to grasp the way of writing by familiarising how the author structure the sentences or describe the situation. Also, book contain somewhat deep vocabulary. By looking the words up in the dictionary, it expands your vocabulary widely. This makes writing or describing a breeze for you.
English is also a language. Hence, one can improve his/her communication skills by speaking proper English. This is done so by actually listening to proper English and preventing oneself from speaking broken English. Nowadays, there are CDs available to teach you the proper pronunciation of English words. With perseverance and hard work, communicating well in English would be no sweat at all.
To sum up, one is able to improve his/her English skills if they are willing to persevere and work hard towards their goal.

Burglary (Week 13)
I rummaged through the drawers of the house as he kept a look out for anyone. "Have you found the money? Are you sure this is a viable plan? We have to get out of her as soon as possible" James asked as he continued to look out for the house owners. I grabbed the money. "Yes, I have found it," I answered as I closed the drawers. "Hurry, we have to get out now. It would not be propitious if the family curtail their trip and decide to head home," John exclaimed. I pulled the door open and looked around. It was pitch black. Ensuring that there was no one, we surreptitiously made out way to the subterranean haven of ours. "Another successful burglary," I muttered under my breath as I grinned.
