This picture depicts a scene of a science lab. This is so since students are wearing coats and gloves to prevent any contamination. The flame on the bottom left side of the picture shows that it was probably used for sterilisation. I believe that the students are trying to grow bacteria on the petri dish since they did so many precautions to prevent contamination, including the use of the distilled water. The students at the table are all smiles. This shows that they enjoy doing the experiment as they feel that it is fun and have an interest in it. They are all looking at the petri dish, hence proving that they are engrossed in it and have a passion for learning. At the background, there are also other students working on their experiments.

I like biology as it allows me to understand living organisms better. I would like to study veterinary science after I graduate from school as I love animals and want to do my best to help them in anyway i can. I feel that everyone should go to university. This would allow them to learn more new things and hence it would be much easier for them to find a job in the future than the people who did not go to university.

Day 7 English Oral
This is a scene of a hawker centre. I can tell that this is a hawker centre since it is near a HDB flat and it has the typical round tables and round chairs that a hawker centre has. There are many people holding brooms cleaning the floor while a woman at the right of the picture holds a water hose while spraying the water on the table. I believe that the woman on the right who is holding the water hose is a member of the Parliament. This shows that the government cares about the hygiene of the public places. The people cleaning the floor with brooms are probably volunteers that care about the public and hence want the place to be hygienic. I feel that people should not throw their rubbish around in the hawker centres but they should throw them in the rubbish bins nearby. They should also return the plates and utensils they used to the respective stalls and not wait for cleaners to clean up after them. There are many people gathering outside the hawker centre with smiles on their faces. This shows that they are happy to see the hawker centre cleaned. This is probably because the hawker centre was very dirty before the cleaning and they are glad that they are able to enjoy their meals in comfort. A man at the center of the picture points at a table at the background of the picture. He is probably asking for volunteers to clean the table. If I were there I would volunteer since I believe that everyone has a part to play in keeping Singapore clean and green. Lastly, I believe this event was organised to spread the awareness of hygiene to the public.

2.I think hygiene is very important. This is because good hygiene prevents the spread of diseases such as the recent H1N1. By washing your hands, you can get rid of the possible germs that linger. I believe that it is difficult to have good hygiene when one is preoccupied with something and busy as one cannot possibly be washing their hands at every minute or after every object that one touches. Also, it is difficult to have good hygiene when the facilities around you do not have adequate standards such as toilets with no soaps. When one is too hygienic, one may develop an obsessive compulsive disorder or have no immunity against disease-causing bacteria, hence one would be more prone to fall ill easily.

Day 5 English Oral
This picture depicts a classroom. This so because there is a white board at the background with a Singapore flag on top of it. In the foreground, there are 3 students and a teacher at the table. I can tell that they are students since they are wearing uniforms, have a name tag with a badge and a neat hair do. The teacher is holding the string of the pulley system set up on the table. She is probably demonstrating to her students how the pulley system works. She is wearing a smile. This probably shoes that the teacher is enjoying her work of teaching teaching the students and want the students to learn. A student on the far right tilts his head to observe the pulley system carefully. This shows that the student is enthusiastic in learning. Also, the student beside him is writing down notes while looking at the pulley system. This shows that this student too, is enthusiastic about learning. There are other students at the background. This shows that they are probably also doing the science experiment. I believe that schools should have more hands on work to allow students to understand the topics in their syllabus better and to allow them to have an interest in the subject.

I like biology. It allows me to understand living organisms in our daily lives better. I like working with my hands. This is to allow me to understand the topic better since I have experienced it myself. For example, in biology class, my class was given real sheep hearts. This allows us to better understand how the heart works as we can see it with our own eyes. This beats memorising the contents from the textbook as it may turn out boring. I think it is better to learn from doing things than reading about them since first hand experience would allow the students to remember better.

Day 3 English Oral
This is a scene of a beach. There are many people relaxing at the beach. Hence, this shows that it is probably a public holiday or the weekends since people are usually free on those days to take time off their hectic schedules to relax and spend time with their families. In the foreground, 6 children, with a woman, are building sand castles. The 6 children are probably cousins and the woman is probably the mother of one of the children. She is probably there to assist the children in building the sand castles and ensure the safety of the children. The smiles on their faces tells me that they are having a wonderful time at the beach and are enjoying the company of one another. The woman is wearing a hat and 2 children are squinting. This proves that it was a sunny day. And a sunny day would be the best kind of weather for a day at the beach. Behind them, there is another group of children building sand castles. This shows that people enjoy building sand castles and hence there should be an event organised at the beach to build the most outstanding sand castles. This would allow families and friends to take part, improving the relationships between them. At the top right hand of the picture, a woman is covering a man with sand. This is also one of the activities people like to do when at the beach. At the top of the picture, a group of people are sitting under a tree. They are probably relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze of the sea while chatting with each other.

2. I believe that children should take part in more outdoor activities. This allows the children have a more healthy and active lifestyle so that they would not fall sick easily and hence would be able to concentrate on their studies. If the children take part in outdoor activities such as engaging in outdoor sports like football or swimming, it may even spark their interest in sports so when they grow older, they would engage in exercise to keep them healthy. By taking part in group activities such as football, it allows the children to improve their social skills too.
I think many children enjoy computer games because one is not able to experience the virtual world in real life. In the virtual world, they would be free to do anything they want. They probably do not have that freedom in the real world. I feel that some of these games have violent content. This might cause the children to pick up these violence from the games and use the violence in the new world. Also since the games are computer games, it would spoil the eyesight of the children after long hours of staring at the computer screen. Some games are also addictive. That would cause the children to spend a long time in front of their computer, neglecting their studies.

Picture Discussion
This picture depicts a scene of a elderly folks home. The elderly folks are sitting in a circle, engaging in a game. The lady throwing a ball to an elderly man in a wheel chair seems to be a nurse since her hair is neatly pulled back and she is dressed in a uniform, with a name tag on. There is another lady, who is probably a nurse too, standing outside the circle, smiling as she watches the game. This shows that she enjoys taking care of the elderly folks at the home. Most of the elderly are in wheel chairs. This shows that they have difficulty walking. Their children probably sent them to the home as they found them being a burden to them and that they do not have the time to take care of them. All of the old folks have their eyes glued on the ball this proves that they are very engrossed in the game, hence I feel that the home should organise these games more often. The room has physiotherapy equipments such as the stairs and ramp and a television for entertainment. This shows that the home cares for the well being of the elderly and want to provide the best for them by improving their facilities.
Conversation
I believe that the elderly people should live with their children or near them. Most elderly are unable to take care of themselves since some of them have difficulty getting around. This ensures that their children would be able to take care of them. Also, most elderly people are not able to provide for themselves financially since they have retired, hence the children should be the ones who provide financially for them. The children should repay their parents this way since their parents were the ones who looked after them and paid for their everyday necessities.
If I were to design a special home for the elderly, I would include a recreational garden for the elderly. In the recreational garden, I would place tables with chess boards on them. This allows the elderly to engage in games with one another to improve their social skills and mind-challenging games such as chess allows the elderly to exercise their minds. Since it is a garden, the elderly would be able to go for walks around the garden and enjoy the fresh air. The elderly would also be able to do plantings and undergo horticulture therapy. Horticulture therapy is the practice of horticulture as therapy to improve human well-being. It is a process that utilise plants and horticultural activities to improve social, educational, psychological and physical adjustment of persons thus improving their body, mind, and spirit. Hence, I feel that it would suit the needs of the elderly best.
I think that the health care and nursing homes should only be free to a group of elderly. For example, to those elderly whose children are already having difficulties financially supporting their own families and are unable to support their parents. This would ensure that the elderly would be able to be well taken care of. However, the health care and nursing homes should not be free to those elderly whose children are well to do and are able to support their parents financially. This allows the nursing homes to run smoothly and improve their facilities to provide a better place for the elderly.

Week 20
The present her and the past her are two disparate people. She was a maudlin lady in the past, always getting reviled at by pesky people. However, the lugubrious her disappeared throughout the years, changing her into a puissant woman.
Week 19
That rich man has megalomania. Well, not that he is poor, he just craves for more power and wealth. He has a sumptuous residence and a luxurious car. What more could he ask for? Worse till, he was a profligate person. Wasting things from electricity to food. Never would he be exonerated from the accusation of wasting. If only he could donate his money instead of spending them to the legion of poor people around the globe. That would be nice.
(Week 18)
How do you tell excuses? Spontaneously change the subject to an irrelevant one or say that you are an itinerant person and have to go. Tell them well or people who deem that you have a myriad of excuses would automatically avoid you.
(Week 17)
Jane was a gullible girl. As her good friend, I can attest to it. She was tricked before. Being a vain girl, she cared about her face complexion and have always complained that she has bad complexion. One day, this stranger walked up to her and offered her this magic rock that is said to have manifold functions and one of which is to improve one's complexion. It cost $900. This was obviously fallacious and is a hoax. However, instead of telling the cheater off, she was exulted. In the end, this mistake cost her $900 and her complexion.

Gangsters (Week 16)
He was a gangster at 15. He turned to a gang as his family was plain havoc. His gang served as a bulwark against his enemies. Like a coterie, they protected him. Protection is indigenous to human beings hence one would search for it when they lacked it. They are taught not to have any
altruistic behavior against any gang member to prevent cupidity of money.
altruistic behavior against any gang member to prevent cupidity of money.
Criminals(Week 15)
Criminals and their accomplice would always be brought to justice. Well, unless that law is abrogated. Otherwise, they would then repent their mistakes by going throught the asperities of prison, where they would also regret their complicity. Hence, it's best not to persevere to carry out a crime.
Success (Week 14)
Everyone aspires to be successful in life. Majority of people would want to own a mammoth house and spend their life in luxury. No one would want to be relegated less plesant tasks from their superior and stay as an inferior steorotype. Everyone wants to be a boss. In life, there are many risks to be taken. One of which is when you want to succeed. One would have to be full of valor and be daring to take the risk. Then you yourself would be that singular success.

Can one improve his/her English skills?
I believe one would be able to improve his/her English skills. Practice makes perfect. In this case, "practice" refers to reading as many books as possible. By constantly reading books, one would be able to grasp the way of writing by familiarising how the author structure the sentences or describe the situation. Also, book contain somewhat deep vocabulary. By looking the words up in the dictionary, it expands your vocabulary widely. This makes writing or describing a breeze for you.
English is also a language. Hence, one can improve his/her communication skills by speaking proper English. This is done so by actually listening to proper English and preventing oneself from speaking broken English. Nowadays, there are CDs available to teach you the proper pronunciation of English words. With perseverance and hard work, communicating well in English would be no sweat at all.
To sum up, one is able to improve his/her English skills if they are willing to persevere and work hard towards their goal.

Burglary (Week 13)
I rummaged through the drawers of the house as he kept a look out for anyone. "Have you found the money? Are you sure this is a viable plan? We have to get out of her as soon as possible" James asked as he continued to look out for the house owners. I grabbed the money. "Yes, I have found it," I answered as I closed the drawers. "Hurry, we have to get out now. It would not be propitious if the family curtail their trip and decide to head home," John exclaimed. I pulled the door open and looked around. It was pitch black. Ensuring that there was no one, we surreptitiously made out way to the subterranean haven of ours. "Another successful burglary," I muttered under my breath as I grinned.

The new classmate (Week 12)
He stepped into the class. Heads turned. "Look here everyone, let us warmly welcome our new classmate, Mathew,"the teacher exclaimed as he clapped his hands. His grumpy face was as noticeable as his flamboyant clothes. There was silence. Obviously, the sight of him made everyone timorous.
Mathew was well-known in school. Well, he's not prestigious but is instead notorious. Knowing the notorious students is an integral knowledge in school. It saves you from all trouble. Mathew was fractious. He was known to beat up anyone in his way and holler vulgarities at them.
Once, he dunked a boy's head into the toilet bowl. And the reason? The boy dropped a pen on Mathew's head by accident. How silly is that to bully the boy just because of that incident?
Mathew made his way to his seat at the back of the classroom, causing students sitting near him to scurry away from their seats in fear. Since the introduction, the silence in the classroom was unbroken for the rest of the lesson.

The graduation(Week 11)
Finally, the day of graduation came. The zealous students settled down to receive a speech from the phlegmatic principal. The words of the principal touched the hearts of many pupils with his inspiring speech. It was a poignant scene. 45 minutes elasped and the principal was done with his speech. Being deeply moved by the principal, the students threw roses onto the stage. Soon, the stage was inundated with roses.
